On hot days your dog loses more fluid than normal. Place fresh water in several places and refresh it regularly. Tip: add ice cubes to the drinking bowl or use a cool drinking fountain.

Preferably walk your dog early in the morning or later in the evening. The asphalt can get very hot during the day and that is dangerous for dogs' paws! A handy rule: if the asphalt is too hot for your hand, it is too hot for their paws.

A cooling mat or cooling vest is not an unnecessary luxury. They help your dog cool down without having to get wet. Place the cooling mat in the shade or in the house - your dog will love it.

Never let your dog lie in direct sunlight. Provide a shady spot outside and bring him inside if it gets too hot. Fans or air conditioning can help inside.
